Nov. 19-20

WRITING and READING:
We are meeting with our 4th grade buddies on this short week to do some fun activities with making our own turkey and a "Would you rather..." Thanksgiving style debate.  It should be fun with lots of laughter!

This week we will work on ABC order. We will also write a story using a leaf's point of view to tell about how it falls from the tree to the ground. We will work on making lists about the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays. In reading we plan to work on retelling a story and comparing characters in a story. We will also meet with our 4th grade buddies to complete some research about Thanksgiving. We will NOT have spelling words this week.

MATH:
Adding and subtracting two-digit numbers will continue this week. We have some fun holiday games to reinforce the strategies taught. There will NOT be math homework this week.

SCIENCE:
We'll continue our study of rocks and their properties this week by doing a rock report and assessing what we've learned during the unit.
